HOME to Peacehaven White
Result - Won 8-2
A great performance from all the boys & girl! probably our best team performance this season. Well done!!
HOME to Patcham
Result - Lost 4-1
A disappointing result and performance in the end yesterday on the Common.
After probably our best goal this season - great flowing move, some great skill and cross from Louis (great to see him back after his injury !) on the wing, a fine header from Nathan and another move soon after prompting a worldie save from their keeper - we again this season then conceded a few , our heads dropped and the blood and guts and defensive discipline from last weeks efforts was sadly absent or couldn't be summonsed.
HOME to Jarvis Brook
Result - Drew 2-2
Special praise this afternoon for our U16s. Previously pointless they took on 2nd in the table Jarvis Brook Juniors and quickly found themselves 2-0 down with two self inflicted errors. As the JB strikers were licking their lips expecting capitulation the team rallied, and took the fight to JB. Two second half goals bought them level and would have nicked a win but for the woodwork. 13 heroes but for heart, fight, courage and no little skill man of the match goes to centre back Chris for a Terry Butcher like performance (look it up boys). Great teamwork, they stuck to the plan and every player stuck to their job to get a richly deserved point. And great support today as well - it makes a big difference! Well played everyone.
AWAY to Maidenbower Colts
U18s game was a “walkover” as unfortunately Maidenbower Colts were unable to raise a side.. the three points puts us up to 2nd in the table!

HOME to Montpelier Villa
1st Game - Won 14-1; 2nd Game - Won 8-0
The boys worked very hard against a newly formed team this season. Our boys played some nice football, 8 different players scored today.
AWAY to Woodingdean Wanderers
A battling performance against a physical team. The boys showed good character, kept going and in the 2nd game played really well in the 1st half. Woodingdean were a very strong team, not many will get a result against them!
AWAY to Eastbourne (CUP GAME)
Result - Lost 4-0
To play a whole hour with only 10 men and the final 10 minutes or so with 9 and to still go toe to toe with a team doing well in Div 1, 2 divisions above us, shows how proud the boys should be today.
Their commitment and energy levels were right up there battling for every 2nd ball, blocking tackles, tracking back, and re-gaining possession. We just never let them settle. And we kept that up for 80 minutes. It was impressive stuff. I asked for that at the outset and they delivered. It was certainly our best showing of the season, despite the result.
Their coach shook my hand at the end and was effusive about our display singling out Joe who was a commanding presence in goal with multiple saves. And our back four / five was very solid.
Really hard to pick out a player this week for Man of the Match as it really was a team effort but for working tirelessly, regaining posession multiple times and blocking their attacks then this weeks MOTM is for Oliver Neatherway. Well done Oli !
PS: Best of wishes to Nathan and Charlie after their injuries. Hope both are ok and recover soon.

This is just a polite reminder that ALL player membership fees should be paid. There are still a few outstanding that really need to be paid as soon as possible. Without all funds collected the Club simply can not run properly.

1st Home Game of the Season, against Hove Rivervale

The boys played really well against a strong Hove team. What was so impressive was that we had no less than half the team scoring a goal! The defence was very well organised and both our goal keepers made some important saves at key times. Thanks to our referees - Simon & George

Home match today against Seagulls FC played on a bowling green after Pete Steel went up to the ground early this morning to cut the grass. ( That's dedication ).
The first game was really tight, scores were level at half time. The second half the boys upped the tempo and we ended up 6-2 winners.
The second match followed a similar pattern and again we finished very strongly and won 6-1.
Outstanding football played from the boys today.
1st League Game of the Season, against Lewes FC.
1st Game - Draw 2-2; 2nd Game - Lost 5-4
The boys played on the 3G pitch, and really performed well. Hit the post, crossbar, so unlucky to lose the 2nd game. Played in the right spirit and over 20 parents watching - Thank you all!!
Home to Tunbridge Wells Forresters.
"Passing was much improved in todays game and our defence really stepped up from the last game with lots of support from midfield, they held up the opposition well with really good jockeying and some great clearances. And of course, some great saves, punches and parrying from the GK"
Away to Copthorne Youth.
Goal Scorers - Ben 1
That's 2 wins on the bounce from our Under 18s, well done!

Chailey and Newick Colts FC U17s completed a memorable League and Cup double with victory in the U17 League Cup Final on 23rd April. They took on Dorking Wanderers in the Final played at Oakwood FC, and won the trophy in the most dramatic of fashion with a last minute winner having been 0-2 down early in the second-half!
Credit should go to Dorking Wanderers who started the game much the better side, and took the lead mid-way through the first half. Colts found their feet a little as the half came to an end but their hopes of getting back into the game was made harder with another goal for Dorking very early in the second half. The Colts dug deep and showed great character as they refused to give up, and two quick goals mid-way through the half saw them on level terms. A far post header, from a well delivered free-kick in the last minute of normal time saw the Colts edge in front and they showed great calmness to see the final couple of minutes through to seal the win.
Our thanks to Mid Sussex Youth Football League and everyone at Oakwood FC for their efforts in making the final a memorable occasion for the players and parents. Our best wishes also to Dorking Wanderers who contributed to a fantastic match, but also showed great sportsmanship at the final whistle despite their disappointment.

Chailey and Newick Colts U17s have created a little bit of history by winning the Mid Sussex Youth Football League Division 3 title; the second championship-winning season in a row. The victory last Sunday had meant that one more win from their last 4 games would secure the title. This weeks scheduled opposition, Horley Town Youth, are unable to raise a side and so the Colts take the points and with them the League title!
Congratulations to all the players and everyone involved with the side..
